Ween- Quebec (Review)

There's no point in denying that Ween are an absolutely brilliant band. But the main problem I find with them is that some of their tracks can be seen in two different ways: Either really challenging, or just pointless and shit. To be fair on them, most of the time they are high on drugs, so you've just gotta sort of let it go. Quebec is no exception to this problem, the album is cluttered with absolute genius, including the epic final track "If you could save yourself- you'd save us all" the brilliant love song "I don't want it" and the fucked up, Pink Floyd esque "The Argus".  Then as usual with Ween, you've got the hillariously messed up novelty songs, on this album "Hey There Fancypants" is a good example of this sort of thing. But then you've got the pointless shit like "It's gonna be a long night" and "Happy Coloured Marbles". I'm not dissing Ween by any stretch of the imagination, because as I said before, I think they are an absolutely brilliant band, and would  love to see them live one day.

But with every great band, nothing is perfect, and the fact that nothing is perfect and they obviously don't give a damn is one of the main reasons why I love them and probably why there are so many devoted fans out there. May they continue to excessively take drugs and most importantly, may they continue to excessively make some brilliant tunes.
